Vybz Kartel To Release New Album In Prison
NOT EVEN incarceration can slow down iconic Jamaican musician Vybz Kartel. He has been consistently running the road from behind bars since he was taken into custody over three years ago. His multiple nominations at the recent YVA’s show he is still the man of the moment despite his physical absence.
The international dancehall star, who is appealing his murder conviction last year, will be releasing a new album in two months time.
Billboard producer TJ of TJ Records has teamed up with Adidjaheim Records to present the new EP, Vybz Kartel VIKING (Vybz Is King).
Kartel is not the only musician to move units while locked up. American rapper Tupac’s fourth album Me Against the World sold over 2 million copies in 1995. The hit album made Tupac the first artist to have an album debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart while serving time in prison.
Other artists who have released music while behind bars includes Lil Wayne, Cassidy, T.I. and Gucci Mane.
